[CTSARA] Transporting gear on roof racks

So with tonight's meeting or portable antennas, i have, what should
be, a simple question.  What are good methods for transporting
antennas, tripods, and other assorted gear using a car's roof rack?
I'll probably have a set a cross bars for my rack by FD, but probably
not a cargo basket.

Why not just carry all of it in the car?  Because it get's in the way
of the HT and the multiple White Castle Crave Cases.
