As you all know, we are having the Balloon testing and contesting extravaganza next Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 at Vet's park. We will stay overnight and use the CQ WPX SSB WORLD WIDE CONTEST with the purpose of testing improvements on the inverted Vee for 80 M supported by the blue balloon at 135 ft and to have fun and QSOs. Set up time will be at noon to give us time to deal with Mr. Murphy if necessary before the band opens for the night. There are six members directly participating, so far. We think at least seven are necessary to deploy and handle the balloon but more will be important since next Field Day we will be seriously attacking 80 and 75 M and setup time will not be in our favor as it is the norm on Field Day. To make it an all weather operation, we will have the great benefit of Hugh's (W1HBR) RV as out command post and shack. As always the park will be closed after 10 PM but parking arrangements are the same as Field Day's We need two or three fishing rods and reels with 200 ft of 20 lbs test line or better. So let us know if you are bringing one (or more).RSVP is highly appreciated as soon as you can. 73 and C U at Vets Park !

One little thing that you might want to point out: The club does not pay for the expenses (helium, food, fuel for the generator, etc).

All participants chip in with a little money. We would not charge to visitors coming just to observe and criticize of course :-) .
