I do not make sly remarks to people as you have just done. Your =
statement is
the type of statement that causes problems between people. My statements =
are
true and can be verified. I wish they weren't but they are!!! I will not
start trouble with you!!!! Have a nice day!!!

Don, in some ways I agree with you but in other ways I do not. Like Jim =
I
was threatened and my family threatened because I had a difference of
opinion with N7BKW. This I reported to Mr. Hollingsworth as it was done =
over
the air with witnesses! To this date and until I buried I have no use =
for
him.=20
=20
Also, these are the same people that write stories for World Radio and =
have
them published. What a way to treat the county hunters. Embarrassing all =
of
us and putting our dirty laundry out in the media. I might add, a larger
media probably than the IMC forum. This went to all subscribers, county
hunters and non county hunters. Then the idiot starts breaking copyright
rules and posts the articles on the IMC forum. I called World Radio and =
put
a stop to that. They were extremely upset about it.
=20
Furthermore, some of the 1%ers have cheated in collecting counties or =
should
I say not worked them all themselves (had help with people using their
callsign) and have run counties not necessarily where they were =
(Proximity).
Remember, Don, this is the same group that went out of their way to BURN =
a
fellow county hunter a few years ago. Police reports, called the mans =
job,
etc.I guess the bottom line is that they wanted the LAST Counties and =
were
jealous as hell of Ed. To me they are no better, but it seems it's OK. =
They
are accepted!!!!! Kind of a double standard don't you think?
=20
So actually, I have no use for any of them that have threatened me or =
have
disgraced the county hunter community.
=20
Oh well, now the hate mail will start but just my opinion.

I'm not one to get "in the middle" of this stuff either but, as they say =
"we
all have an opinion" and I've been known to state mine..!!
=20
Several year's ago, I almost gave up county hunting too. After the
"garbage" that hit the amateur bands in the 80's and 90's started, it =
wasn't
much fun to even turn on the radio. The language was so bad on most of =
the
bands that I couldn't listen without earphones on because my radio's =
have
always been either in or very near our living area and my wife and kids
didn't need to hear it. So, I decided to again try the "county hunting"
thing from many years ago. We used to sit and listen to the CH net in =
the
evenings (1967) when a lot of the other bands had given up. I was never
really serious about it but, had worked some of the guys from my =
"maritime
mobile" when the (Navy) ship was underway. Usually looking for someone =
to
phone patch us into the states. By the summer of 1997, I was just about
done with ham radio.. But, a friend told me about a guy that had a TS-50 =
for
sale (cheap) so, I bought it and put it in my truck.. That started my =
trek
into county hunting. The one guy that kept me going was Kenny KC4UG.. =
I'd
either call him on the phone or email him with my "disgust" about things =
and
he would always tell me "you don't want to quit".. and he was right.
=20
I just hate the bickering and in-fighting within any group. I've been =
in
radio clubs where there was more hollering and yelling than anything =
else
and I QUIT.. and thats exactly the way that I have felt about county
hunting. IT'S A HOBBY people..!! Why in hell can't we just have FUN =
with
it..???
=20
First of all, I guess you have to more or less understand and agree with
both sides. Also, for anyone to say that they don't know "why" such and
such happen's is hiding their head in the sand. In order to upset =
another
person to the extent that they will no longer associate with or talk to =
you,
YOU HAD TO DO "SOMETHING".. This didn't get started because both sides =
kept
their opinion's to themselves..!!
=20
I do not believe that MARAC taking over the ICHN will accomplish =
anything.
Remember, the "I" stands for "Independent" and should remain so. As you
stated Bill... Jim told you that you could fire him as the MARAC =
Treasurer
and the next day, he would still be on the net anyway. So would I..!!
=20
I also agree that, if I am out there running counties, if the net goes =
into
"open" session because no else will pick it up, I quit putting out =
counties
too.. except for any mobiles that I know are out there. That's =
disturbing
to both my wife and I because, the only reason we are out there, =
spending
our own money, is to put out counties but, if no one has the desire to =
run
the net, then I really don't feel sorry for them. That's why, I'm =
really
glad that Jim (or anyone else) "is there" to keep things in order and =
allow
me to do what I really love to do.
=20
I "do not" agree with the policy of restricting anyone from working on =
the
ICHN.. To allow everyone to be a part of the net doesn't mean that you =
have
to "like" them or, carry on a conversation with them. All you have to =
do is
utter their callsign on the net and the county (counties) that they want =
to
run or work and, let it go at that. (You can even turn the volume down
while they are talking). Yes, there are some that "irk" me at times too
but, that doesn't mean that I cannot work them over the radio waves =
without
having to associate with them in any other way. I'm sure that my way of
operating doesn't sit that well with "everyone" either. So be it..!! =
If
they don't want to work me in the county I'm in.... DON'T... just don't
hassle me about it.
=20
This thing has gone on long enough and needs to be put to rest. It no
longer affects just the individuals involved...! It's gotten to the =
point
where it now affects a good share of the entire ICHN and MARAC members..
This doesn't take into consideration, the affect's this "bickering" has =
on
people that aren't even associated with county hunting. It's not a good
thing to be written about in "other" media besides our own. The "crap" =
on
the FORUM is just that. If it were MY forum, it would not be allowed in
print. That is no place to air your dirty laundry..!! Anyone with a
computer can go up there and read about it. Doesn't make us look very =
good,
does it..!!
=20
One of things that I remember from my Dad when I was growing up was; "it
takes a whole lot bigger man to say "I'm Sorry" than one who holds a
grudge"... And, in most cases, that's all it takes to fix a problem, =
renew
old friendships or, just get along. Maybe in this case, NO ONE has to =
say
"I'm Sorry"... Just let it go and let it happen....=20
=20
I just heard Jim KZ2P offer to "make a deal" with another county hunter =
ON
THE NET.. I hope this is an indication of things to come. Thanks =
Jim...
