Hi All,
Glad to report on a successful club activation of the Old Head of Kinsale
lighthouse for the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend on August
19/20th.
The callsign used was EI1OHL and over 1000 QSOs were made over the two days.
Thanks to Tim EI2KA for getting callsign, designing and getting the QSL
cards printed and producing an impressive QRZ.COM page.
Activity started on Saturday morning with the arrival on site of Jeremy
EI5GM, Jim EI8GS, Sean EI3GS, Denis EI5GSB, Club secretary Laura and
boyfriend and Dave EI4BZ.
Dipoles for 20, 30 and 40m were run from the railings on the lighthouse but
operation was only on 20m on both days.
The plug was pulled at around 2100 on Saturday evening and operations
resumed on Sunday morning with Denis, Jim, Jeremy and Dave on site.
The station was dismantled at 1700.
Thanks to all involved and especially lighthouse caretaker Alan Boyers for
his co-operation over the weekend.

Our next outing will be SSB Field Day on September 2/3rd (two weeks time).
Will we have enough operators to mount a 24 hour operation?
Please let us know if you can attend as the station set-up will depend on
the numbers available
