EI1C/P was activated for SSB Field Day last weekend as planned from the farm
of Owen Cashman in Glounthaune.

The shack was the AREN Wagon (thanks EI6BT for bringing it from Dungarvan).

The club marquee (4m x 4m) was used for the first time and proved very
useful.

Aerials were a spider beam (EI5GSB) at 40 feet on aluminium poles with a
rotator (EI8GS) at the bottom and dipoles for 80/40. Power was 1 Kw.

Thanks to John EI8IR for the loan of the big generator.

Our QSO total was just over 1,000 with 129 multipliers. A great result.

Participants were EI3GS, EI4BZ, EI5GSB, EI6BT, EI8GS, EI8IR.

 

Discussions are ongoing about our participation in Jamboree On The Air over
the weekend of 10/12 October. More details shortly.

 

The dates for our next three meetings are October 12th, November 9th and
December 14th.
