Olivier Vandenbalck EI8GQB/EI1A/ON4EI has been travelling to Fethard in
Tipperary over recent years to set up a field day style contest station to
compete in some of the major worldwide contests mainly with green energy.

 

He will give a presentation on his experiences at our meeting on Wednesday
next in Carrigtwohill Community Centre at 2000.

 

He will be operating in the Worked All Germany Contest on October 15/16th
and the CQWW SSB on October 29/30th and will use the following set up.

 

16.5m V+ 24m H Inverted L antenna for 160 & 80m bands + 32 radials.

Inverted V dipole for 160-80m-40m bands.

3 elements East-West two-direction inverted V beam for 40m band.

200m long beverage RX antenna East-West directional.

Spiderbeam & Mosley TA33Jr / MP33n antennas for 40/20/15/10m bands.

Transceivers: 2 x Elecraft K3 100W + P3

SO2R : 4O3A 6*2 switch + OM6BPF band pass filter.

500Ah battery bank + 180W solar panel and 400W wind generator.
