Hi all,

As decided  at the last CRC club meeting, we have now got the last
available slot for the club's forthcoming EI13CLAN activation. The date is
starting Saturday 28th December at 00.01 and will run until 23:59. This
date actually worked out rather well as it falls inbetween Christmas and
New Year's eve. It's the day after St. Stevens' Day and so I'm expecting
plenty of takers to do a little operating.

Although this is a club event, one is encouraged to use their own radio and
can operate from the comfort of their own shack ! And as every QSO counts,
it is hoped that you will all try to do your bit, no matter how small or
insignificant it may seem. This is a Club effort and after the 24 hours,
the logs will all be merged to achieve a Club combined score. Each SSB QSO
is 1 point, CW QSOs are 2 points and DIGI QSOs are all worth 3 points.

*We are about the only club left in the country that has NOT used /
supported the EI13CLAN operation to date. Let's do our bit !*

Sincere thanks to those who have already volunteered, and for everyone
else, please consider making even just a few QSOs. It's a nice opportunity
to activate a rather 'unusual callsign'  and EI13CLAN is getting a lot of
attention on the bands.

This reflector will be an invaluable aid during the event as to avoid
duplication of band/mode etc. All it takes is a little co-ordination.

On a separate note, The club now has disposed of the donated FT2000 line-up
and has replaced it with a more suitable Kenwood TS590s and PSU. The
difference in value is reserved solely for a complete club station and so
therefore the additional equipment will be purchased shortly., probably
early in the New Year.

Looking forward to this coming Friday's dinner in Midleton Park Hotel, hope
to see you all there. Music will be by 'The Brasspounders' and a celeb from
Smile FM will be signing autographs too on the day! Not to be missed
