Hi All,
Don't know whether you've checked the "requirements" for buying and
selling at QRZ.COM classifieds recently, but we seem to have a club of
children, half-wits or anal-compulsives running the classifieds site.
Note that once you have listed an item, you can do NOTHING to change the
listing. NOTHING. No editing, but also YOU CAN'T EVEN DELETE A SOLD
ITEM. I have been getting literally dozens of inquiries for items sold
some time ago and can do nothing for the inquirers or me.
I even got a PHONE CALL from one of these remarkably wise folks
"advising" me about what I should and shouldn't say in my listing (one
example: I shouldn't say I'm at swanman AT cfu DOT net because "that's
how those nasty people harvest email addresses"). This person, so far
as I ca tell, was licensed about 30 years after me, and has no record of
buying and selling ham equipment. What Nonsense.
Another example: They list some fascinating little (and I do mean
LITTLE) rules. For example, you can't relist within a week of first
listing. Well thank heaven I didn't do that, because if you do it
they'll leave your call out on the list--hang YOU out to dry--but delete
your listing, and next to it make the wonderful Miss Grundy comment:
"/DO NOT RELIST AN ITEM WITHIN 7 DAYS OF ORIGINAL LISTING"
/This is a dying classifieds site, and it's easy to see why, but do
beware that if you list there you're in for some FUN times, as these
folks KNOW MUCH BETTER THAN YOU how to do what you need to do..
Enjoy Spring, friends! Tks for being there! Vy GL es 73, Jan N0JR
