I was just surfing the Internet and looking at the Collins KW-1 and realized
there was a registry for the Collins 30K-1. It appears there is nothing
posted yet and you are still working on it.
I have Collins Radio 30K-1 serial # 16
I bought it in 1975 from a little town near Atlanta, GA for $75
It had already had some of the components modified, looks like it was trying
to be converted to a CB unit. The power transformer was missing for one
thing. I picked up a large RCA plate transformer that turned out perfect for
my project.
Over the years I have built a number of amplifier chassis into this
beautiful old cabinet to include a 4CX1000A, (ran the 4CX1000A from 1983 to
around 2015)
A pair of 4-400A (from around 1976 to 1983) and now I run a 3-1000Z (from
2016 to present) in the cabinet.
I removed the original plate circuit and put in a large roller inductor and
vacuum capacitors so I could experiment with all of the amplifier chassis I
mention above.
I have a couple of YouTube videos posted on this amplifier.
If you Google, Eimac 3-1000Z Amplifier Pictures, you will see the tube in
this amplifier.
Just in case you are interested in this information
