FYIARR-41 reported to be operational, complete and unmolested with dynamotor, mount optional, see below.Jim
I wonder why people argue over the 10% of their differences and ignore the 90% they agree on?

To All, The above listed R648/ARR41 S/N 573, one of several recentlylocated,(and they are all right here), in an old aircraft warehouse isavailable, with or without the proper and correct MT-1518/ARR41. The R648 is functional, with dirty contacts on band switchand the gain control is noisy. The Dynamotor Power supply has beenserviced IAW the Navy tech manual 120 hour service. Checked for function today: Calibrator is operational, received signals on the frequency shown with a short piece of wire at the endof a piece of RG58 coax, this in the shop with a metal roof. There is dust on the chassis and in the case from long termstorage as well as use in the P-3A aircraft of which the history of theaircraft is noted above. The case is marked in grease pencil STA 300, which indicated the location in the fuselage fromwhich weight and balance is calculated, and the notation AC390 which is normal NAVYpractice for noting the aircraft using the last three digits of the BureauNumber (BUNO). The tools, Bristol wrenches, screwdriver and tube pullersare not present, surely removed by the first in flight technician to remove theradio from its case. Underside of the chassis is quite clean. Inoperation one can hear the dynamotor whine in the audio, normal and notobjectionable. The Overhaul/service tag indicates the year and quarter ofservice at what was Naval Air Rework Facility Alameda (California) The R648/ARR15 is $650, and the “as removed”MT-1518/ARR15 is $175; I have several . NEW OLD STOCK with tagsMT1518/ARR15 mounts are available at $250 each. Shipping dependent onyour location, however none of the material may be exported without a properEnd User Certificate and authorization to Export from either Department ofState or Department of Commerce depending on the current and changingITAR/other definitions of the commodity code for this radio and mount. I do believe I have captured the last remainingserviceable/as removed radios that have not been “diddled with”,just stored for a long time. Payment via cash, check, money order, shipping to bedetermined. Robert P. MEADOWS W4RRD 904 264 2946 1300-2400 Eastern time. ______________________________________________________________
