Pliobond is a rubber based contact cement with a few minutes working
time. The chart of sizes and properties at McMaster-Carr shows it has
about 3 minutes before it starts to cure and cures to maximum strength
in 14 hours. Its contains much fewer harsh chemical solvents that upset
breathing and damage paints and plastics than classic contact cement,
though there has been a water based contact cement for counter tops that
lacks those harsh chemical solvents for decades too. Probably the only
one allowed in California these days or for the past couple decades. For
the S-line panel repair, any should work because that paint is epoxy and
sturdy.

The water based contact cement works great for stacking polystyrene foam
sheets to make model hills and mountains. The classic solvent based
contact cement turns polystyrene foam into a liquid blob. I've not tried
Pliobond on polystyrene foam.

I'd apply a good noncleaning paste wax to preserve the panel finish,
carnuba would be super great but hard to apply and polish on the
textured surface. A car wax that cleans is probably not good for the
peaks and the silk screens on the panel.
