So Carl, if you had the privilege of redesigning the S-line what changes 
would you make besides relay control of the power supply primary and 
filters that didn't ring so much? I would have changed at a minimum the 
receiver IF tubes or added a third stage and worked over the audio 
output to improve its efficiency and reduce that hot spot in the radio. 
I probably would have wanted more common tubes than 6DC6 for the RF 
stage too. I probably would have opted for circuit boards instead of 
Vector turrets that were handy for assembly but a pain for maintenance.
