[Collins] Synthesized radios, was Interesting KWS-1

Speaking of synthesized radios, I'm pretty sure that the ARC-58 was Collin's first effort.  From that came the KWT-6 transceiver and the KWT-6 family of receiver-exciters and eventually the URC-32 as Carl implied.

RCA was a few years earlier with the ARC-21.  Does anyone know a manufacturer or a model number of a synthesized multi-channel radio made before the mid 1950s?
Jim

So did the USN I believe who eventually got Collins to come up with the URC-32. There are examples of the modified 75A4.

The transmitter may have been one of the Strategic Air Command units. Those also had different ranges for the 75A-4 receiver.

I have been restoring a KWS-1 and found that the 15 meter band had been
changed to cover 19.5 to 20.5 MHz. I have ordered the proper crystal to put
it back to 15M. Does anyone know what the history of this change might be?
