Okay this is what I have found so far with the meter back lighting problem.
For one the reflection paper around the inside of the meter is gone and
white paint was applied to the inner wall of the meter and is not doing the
job of getting the light to the front of the meter. So far I have put a
piece of white paper and have lined the inner wall of the meter. Now I  have
a broken meter stud in the lower left hand side of the meter. I hate mickey
mouseing a nice radio, Does anybody have a very nice meter they would be
willing to part with or meter case ? What is a good meter worth? Also I
would like to replace the face plate of the radio because some one has
drilled a hole just right of the VFo knob. Any help would sure be greatful.
