Suggest you first take some wooden door shims and place between transformer and case, these wedge in nicely to support the large transformer.  Check mounting hardware for tightness.  Lay on the left side when looking from the front.  Remove tubes.

I just transported one in my pick-up 350 miles with no problems doing the above.
