[Collins] FW: Unknown dial up unit

Can anyone identify the remote call plate I have pictures of at:

Approx year of use and what system it was for would also help.  It is similar to the inset control panel on the old 16 series transmitters but does not match the 16E, 16EA, 16F or the like.  At first I thought it might be an early remote for one of the WW2 airborne transmit/receive pairs but who knows.  Might even be a Navy unit.
