[Collins] S-meter trouble on the late version of 51S-1

Dear colleague of Collins 51S-1 users,

I noticed the trouble in S meter on 51S-1 late version of 1974.
In this summer I used to find the pin touching to the edge of the meter face 
after getting hot inside of the unit.
Then the pin had been always pointing the middle of the digit on the meter 
until cooling down the unit.
However, since arrival of this Autumn, the meter is indicating the right point 
in the S meter of the unit.

Though I am going to cut the edge of the meter face,
I would like to know your decision against this type trouble?
