[Collins] Collins 51S-1

Anodize is a non-conducting finish, not often used in internal radio work.
Alodine, also known as irridite or chromate conversion, is conducting, and
common in electronic work. Gold alodine offers some protection against
corrosion, but not nearly as good as anodize (clear or colored), which is
then sealed with nickel acetate.

So you can easily tell which finish it is simply by using an ohmmeter,
gently so as to not puncture a potential anodize finish.

Anodized or Alodined? There is a difference. Alodine was a standard
process when I worked there for aluminum chassis. Some versions of the
process involved toxic materials so have changed. >
