[Collins] help needed

Check the tone oscillator, a 6U8.  There has to be a tone present before you can tune the transmitter or to send CW.

Replace the tube, if bad, only with a 6U8.  Although the 6EA8 can be used to replace the other 6U8 tubes, the tone oscillator often will not work properly if a 6EA8 is substituted.

Subject: [Collins] help needed

Dear collins aficionados: I am in the process of recondicion a 32-S1 ( I am no expert)  Voltage, resistance and signal

tracing are Ok and adequate signal gets to the grids of , power tubes, but can not obtain grid meter excitation  nor

can I get power out, I have changed a burned resistor, and measurements and close inspection look good.

What could be hiding there, what should I look for ?. Thank you.    KI4JRY   martin
