I soldered the the wires on the timmer by the  carrier bal pot and WOW does the exciter tuning ever tune smooth now. Before i soldered the wire that exciter tuning was very touchy or i thought it was my poor tuning procedure. hihi .Now its very nice to peak on tune up. I just knew i was putting that case on too soon. Now i will use it for abit and see how things work. Then i will take one more look and if i see nothing, In the case it goes. I want to thank the people on the list for the great info and guidances on fixing this beautiful transceiver. I just wish it did not have a hole on the front face. For some strange reason somebody drill a hole between the rf pot and the VFO. Go figure. Why do people deface a beautiful radio like that. I was watching a utube video last night and this guy had a beautiful SR400A transceiver Mint condition. He drill a hole in the top cover for a toggle switch and a tiny red light. Sin numbers are another eye soar.  Anyway thanks again everybody. Rick VE7RiK
