[Collins] KWM2A microphone problems

I have an MM-1 that was working fine until a few days ago. Then the transmit keying became intermittent and then none. I carefully removed the back late and inspected the connections. I used a drop of de-oxit on the contacts. Blew them dry and still nothing. I checked the microphone plug and the connections are sound there. I tried an Astatic D-104 that I wired to work with it and it keys but the mic element is bad and I knew that. I really want to use the MM-1 but am at my wits end.
Any ideas?
