that is a grey faced 51j-4. Not sure if it is the rare (much sought after)
grey face one or not. Sure looks nice.

Subject: [Collins] Beckman frequency measuring system
Looking for information re a Beckman frequency measuring setup that is
basically a rebadged Collins receiver (51J series-not sure just which
model- any suggestions?) and two associated units. One is called a
'Translator' and has a scope for zero beat display plus a speaker and
is full of tube electroincs. The other unit had a frequency readout
made of neons and a quartz frequency std etc. This latter unit is
missing now but the system is still quite useable with a HP 5245L
frequency counter as a replacement.
A couple of pictures here - http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~tractorb/beckman/
Particularly interested to find out when this system was on the market
(suspect early to mid- 1950s) and any info re price etc. Scans of
catalog info would be especially welcome, as would system specs and
pictures of the missing display etc.
