[Collins] request for info on R-388

Hi Bill, I checked the bathtubs, the one on the rear panel has no date, but the two on the intermediate divider each have one, in this case 10-53 and 11-53. However, I would think those are the dates of the cap manufacture by Aerovox, not the date of the receiver. They appear to be stamped at the same time as the Aerovox data, and in the same typeset. What those dates do, is tell me it could not have been made BEFORE 11-53.

So we're close to home.

Dates are usually on the bathtub caps on the rear of the chassis.

One thing has eluded me, though, how do I date this RX? SN 9014, and the
only date I've seen so far is the year 1956, "reformed", and MFP on the
filter cap plug-in. No nameplate so no contract number.

  Thanks again.
