You are correct. The KRPA is the KA relay in an octal plug in package.
Inconvenient to use in the 30L-1 because its bigger or after you extract
the works from the case, there's no mounting stud, though there's a
chance there might be a mounting screw hole.
I've dug further instead of going along with posts to the list which
maybe I should have done before.
The Collins part number is 970-2140-00. I think that essentially is a
P&B KA-11DG-110. Mouser wants 23 minimum order Digi-Key wants 35, but
Newark On-Line has 39 in stock this morning at $26.51. Last time I dealt
with Newark they added $3 per transaction to use a credit card. Caveat
emptor! but they have the part.
As for alternatives, the DC relay has a 10,000 ohm coil. The 240 volt AC
relay coil in this line is 9,110 ohms. That should work fine, but there
might be a slight delay on operation because of the damping ring that
keeps the AC relay from buzzing. Probably not more than 10 or 20
milliseconds delay though. That would be a KA-11AG-240.
The KU family is very close. And there are variations in mounts,
primarily the stud length (or hole depth) and the spacing to the
alignment lug. There are also variations in the connection lug width.
For our purposes, the KU-11D(1,3,4)(5,7,K)-110 are workable equivalents.
E.g.: KU-11D15-110, KU-11D35-110, KU11D45-110, KU-11D17-110, etc.
And also the KU-11A(1,3,4)(5,7,K)-240 which is the AC coil of 9110 ohms.
The KUP are the KU in a rectangular case without mounting but the same
connection as the KU. They would need a cobble for mounting, like a
strap around the plastic case. They are much more commonly available.
Numbers I found this morning: KUP-11A15-240. Mouser has 2, DK has 17.
KUP-11D15-110. Mouser has 4 at $9.64, DK has 24.
KUP-11D35-110. Mouser has 10.
In the NTE catalog I found the R06-14D10-110 that is quite close to the
KA except it has three poles in the same package size. Mouser shows
three in stock at $27.63. That second digit is a zero.
