If it's a 3 terminal linear pot reverse the leads on the outside terminals
and you may find that the wiper then rests on an unworn area and will work
better. It's a quick and dirty attempt at a fix.

Subject: [Collins] Source for 75S-1 S-meter adjustment pot?
Hello to One and All!
I bought my S-1 line (new) in 1962 and have been using it ever since.
>From the day it came out of the box the "S" meter zero would drift enough to
be annoying and require raising the lid from time to time to adjust the
zeroing pot. Over a period of years either the wiper or the resistive
element (or both) has become badly worn to the point where the wiper to
element contact opens up a few days following "exercising" the pot
adjustment. Contact cleaner/lube helps only for a short time and requires
nearly constant readjustment as it evaporates.
Does anyone know of a source for a 250-ohm replacement pot with the
appropriate physical size? A web search found a note where someone else
asked this question some time back (I think in 2005), but I found no
replies.
Thanks for any help. ...Don (K5BTK)
