I haven't looked at my manual but the .47 uFd capacitor was a common value
and possibly used in audio related circuitry.

Note that the capacitors that you are talking about having on hand are
ELECTROLYTICS which are polarized capacitors and of 100 times more
capacitance. They are appropriate for smoothing DC and are more often in
power supply circuits or used to smooth the DC voltage across a cathode
resistor and bypass the AC there to ground.

You need a "condenser" ??? :) in the .47 or .5 uF area.

You should find plenty of what you need at Mouser.

Hi all,
I found my manual and looked this Cap up. It call for a 0.47uf 400 v cap.
i haven't seen one of those in while. All I have on hand is a 47 uf 350v
and a 47 uf 500v, that'd be way out of range or is there a typo in my
manual?
Thanks,
Cam
