In the United States new 6CL6 tubes run from $5.00 to
$6.00 from various Internet dealers.  Now what they
are worth in South Africa may be somewhat more.

Other tubes range from around $4 to over $50 depending
on exactly the tube.  Tubes like the 12AX7 have prices
running from around $10 to almost $50 depending on the
brand.  This is due to the "audiophool" belief that
certain tube brands "sound" better.

I would look up the prices on a site like

to get the best idea as to value.
