The assumption would be that the speaker wouldn't be
in good condition (not necessarily not working but if
the sound quality has degenerated, then change the
speaker).

Besides, I sincerely doubt that "collector value" will
be compromised on a change of speakers. I would say
most here on this group would rather have a properly
operating speaker to use and enjoy their equipment
first before consideration of the replacement speaker.
