I don't think more assembly will help things work better without getting
those wires right. I see only three connections on the schematic. Its
quite possible some wire headed for ground went to the ccw terminal and
that white wire is the ground for both. I don't have any pictures of the
KWM-2 wiring to be able to check further. Maybe someone can look and
check the wire connections on their audio gain control.
