[Collins] muting a 51J4?

Hi Eugene:
Sorry but you do have to supply 12 volts to mute the
J4. However, this is simpler than others would care to
admit. W3BYM (Tony Marcello) wrote an article in
Electric Radio on exactly how to do this. He tapped
off the filament line and using a voltage doubler,
used this supply to key the relay.
The J series radios are, unfortunately, not the types
that you simply slave to a relay (unlike the 75A
series, which you can).
