The modification that you want moves one of the AM
i.f. cans to the 2nd mixer.  Go to

and then choose SB-2 under the 75S-3B/3C heading.

I have made this change to both my 75S-1 receivers and
my 75S-3A receiver.  Also have done it for several
clients.  It is definitely a worthwhile modification. 
Moving one of the i.f. cans still leaves a single i.f.
can in the AM filter.  The AM bandwidth is somewhat
greater but that definitely does not hurt the AM
capabilities of the receiver.
