Tighten all of the machine screws, nuts, etc., that go
through the chassis.  All of the grounds are made
through these connectors and they definitely work
loose over the years.  This includes those that hold
the tube sockets in place, those that hold the
terminal strips, etc.

I have found that at least 90% of the "screwball"
problems in boat anchors that I repair for others are
caused by loose hardware.
