Hard to believe, but I just sat down to call the Peter 1 expedition on my
75S-3B/32S-3 combination.  He was TX on 14190 and listening 14240.  I set
the RX to the 14.0 segment to hear him, and the TX to the 14.2 segment to
transmit - but you've guessed - that does not work.

The 32S-3 was certainly producing power, but not on 14240.  I realize that
the VFO and Xtal oscillators are connected between rigs, and I could
probably go through the circuits and find out exactly what is happening.

Before I do this, can anyone tell me if there is a way of transceiving
across the segment divide?
