Forgive me if I asked this question before.

Does anyone have a KWS-1 that was modified either at the factory or
individually in which the 6X4 was replaced by the 6AL5 ALC circuit and where
the ALC adjustment (pot) has been replaced with the lock key switch.

Howard Mills, W3HM, told me today that Collins Radio did perform this
modification at the factory. The marking for the ALC adjustment was covered
by a small matching plate that now bore the silkscreen markings: Off and On
and Test Key.

Did Collins provide a set of instructions do this modification by the owner
who wished to perform these mods himself.

Any input would be appreciated. I do know of one ham who has a KWS-1 with
this modification and matching plate as described.

Thank you
