But it do smell good, the odor of some spice. 
A drop of this stuff on a shaft next to the bushing is a excellent 
periodic maint. item. Wll prevent seizing of the shafts, even aluminum.
Don't know it's composition but I have been using it for almost
sixty years.  no stuck shafts or frozen bearings.
I buy mine in quart cans at my auto supply house.
The favorite, best of all for rusted bolts etc is "KROIL"
I used to buy this stuff in 30 galon drums for use around 
some car bottom furnaces in an investment casting facility.
Yup, a few different careers in the past.
