Martin, I was told by a Collins engineer from the plant in Newport Beach,
CA, that the mechanical filters do have a shelf life - I believe that he
told me that Collins estimated the shelf life to be a minimum of 15 years.
How they arrived at that number, I am not quite sure, Tony, WV3Z, has been
successful in resoldering the coupling transformers inside the filters. I
have had several fail me that were used in the the 75A-4. That is why you
never buy one unless you can test it,
