I happened onto the last few minutes of:
Travel Channel late last night (Friday)
"In Search of Amelia Earhardt"
What little I saw of it was at the very end. A search on the Replay TV for
upcoming programs doesn't find any additional broadcasts of it but I've
programmed the Replay TV to record it if it's again on. It's worth looking
for it and seeing it if broadcast again.
The show features prominently, Rod Blacksome, K0DAS, whose name and call
should be recognized by Collins collectors and users. It had lots of shots
of the Collins/Rockwell Radio Club station.
There was even a "recreation" of attempts to contact the plane at the time
with glimpses of Collins gear and what appears to be a 51J.... Well before
it's time! Ahhh...."poetic license."
I wish I'd known it was going to be on as it was a lot about the strength of
the radio signals analyzed by Rod and Collins and the likely location of the
downed plane.
