Heinz: indeed these are all traits of the very last " out the door " runs
of the popular KWM-2A .. I have owned over the years about 10 of this era
produced sets, and to the one, they all had these traits .. mac/mc

Subject: [Collins] Paint on Late KWM-2A

Hello,

I just got a late (1976) KWM-2A with a plastic trim ring and cabinet with
plastic finger hole. The cabinet paint job seems to be of a lower quality
than on the earlier units. The cabinet has several paint chips but no dings
or scratches and the yellow aluminium surface looks thru on several places.
I guess the yellow surface is an Alodine finish and the paint does not
adhere as good as with the etching primer on the earlier units.

To make it clear, the cabinet has without doubt the original paint and was
not repainted although the color and shine seems to be a bit different from
early units.

Can anybody confirm this please?
