I have just dug up from my junk pile a cabinet labeled SB-600 and it
contains a Speaker and a Power Supply in the same cabinet. Someone
told me that the Heathkit SB-600 was only a speaker. Looks like
someone added a PS
The PS has a +1000V plate voltage (790V CT plate winding on the trans)
and a +275V grid(?) supply and is VERY heavy and totally packed into
the chassis. It has what appears to be, I haven't opened it up yet, a
PTT switch or relay input on the back as well as a 8 pin , octal tube
type, output on the back and a fuse labeled "4 to 5 amps." should put
out 300 watts or so of power based on the fuse spec.
I am thinking of using it on a KWM-2. Could the KWM-2 handle the
1000V? Or will I have to neuter it?
