Guys,

Too much stuff, too little time.

I've been very lucky over the last few years. I found a great RE KWM-2A,
then an RE 312B-5 then an RE 30L-1. Was given a DL-1 and did a trade for a
nice WE 3 series S line, I even have an SB610 waiting to be converted to a
Collins look alike. Last week a friend gave me a 51J-4 that's been lying
forgotten in his workshop for maybe twenty years. If I could find a nice
30S-1 I would be a really super happy ham.

I've still got some other pieces here that I honestly doubt I will ever do
anything useful with so it seems sensible to see if there is any interest in
them. I might be able to raise enough for some other toys, I dare not
mention the D...e word here!

The first thing to go is a project 312B-5 but to be honest I have no real
feel for where this sort of thing sits value wise. Sure we all know about
the super mint RE 312B-5's that sell for huge sums, this isn't one of those.
What is it, well a couple of pictures are at
http://www.qsl.net/hs0zed/trades.html but beware they are big and will take
a few minutes to download if you are on dialup. The pictures probably say
more about it than I could but here is a little detail anyway.

WE. S/N 11159 still just visible. Phone patch switch lever broken off, knob
missing. VFO knob missing. Meter glass missing. Multi core cable chopped off
and replacement cable spliced in. No 9 pin plug fitted but I have a suitable
one. Coupler not mounted in case. Case and trim ring are a little beat up.
Pretty sure anybody with a half decent workshop could sort it out though.

Other than that it looks complete. I have figured out the wiring and plugged
it into my KWM-2A, vfo works okay, speaker mic wiring ptt etc all work.
That's about it. My guess is this would make a great project unit for
somebody willing to invest the time.

So what's it worth guys. I know there are plenty of people on the lists here
who have a better grasp of these sort of things than I do, would be
interested to hear your thoughts.

Other stuff coming soon, well another 312B-5, I hate to describe it as NOS
but that is really what it is. RE, missing the vfo knob again, they must eat
them around here, the case is a little marked most probably from sitting on
a shelf for years unprotected. The vfo cable is still bagged and the rubber
band, yes rubber, is etched into the plastic bag suggesting it has never
been opened. Pretty much as near NOS as I've ever seen. A couple of KWM-2A's
WE in need of some TLC but likely to be decent enough when cleaned and
sorted, no not mint.
