Since KWM-2A serial numbers were issued in random order like most of the
S-line, you can't go on serial number. There is no depositary of serial
number vs. build date. I don't know that there ever was one.
If you can find a MCN tag that can give a hint of build time. Date codes
on original tubes, electrolytics and crystals are the best of
information though circuit changes can be traced.
Of course, there is the transition from winged to round emblem long
about 1965 that gives a strong hint of vintage. Serial number tags that
say Rockwell instead of Collins are the more recent of production.
Date codes on tubes and electrolytics may have been encoded but will
often be 4 character groups. I don't have the key to those date codes,
but probably should try to find them someday.
