Smart? Hah!. I was just being lazy. The thought of once again undoing
the 19 screws that secure the radio's bottom cover was too much to bear.
In my case, sloth was the mother of invention.
You're not alone, Jim. I once removed and rebuilt three IF cans only to
find the fault I was trying to correct had been caused by a capacitor
lead shorted against the chassis. By the way, the shorted cap was one I
had installed during my recapping.
