Larry,

Didn't you say your receiver is stamped MWO 11-264A-1?  If I didn't dream 
that, then (a) it's an R-388/URR and not a 51J-3 and (b) it was made on an order 
earlier than 25635-Phila-53, not on 37003-PC-62.  There must have been another 
MWO that added the antenna protection circuit.  But unfortunately my copies 
of DA PAM 310-4 skip from 1958 to 1966.  And by the time of the latter one, the 
AN/GRC-26A had disappeared from the list.  Or at least TM 11-264A was no 
longer listed.
