Jim,
I just worked DXCC on RTTY with my R390A. In six months, by the way.
I find that my R390A is very stable, selective, and sensitive. I can leave
it on a frequency and know that it will be there hours and days later. I can
work contests and easily separate signals and work through the QRM. I can
work with weak and fading signals and still have readable print on the
Teletype.
So, in my case, your statement "...The R-390A is also useless for the Ham
Bands (except AM)..." does not apply.
