Check the meter switch. 1 ma or less current at 50 millivolts or less
means the meter switch contacts really should be gold or gold plated to
not oxidize. Silver switch contacts probably will make the meter be
intermittent. Did in my 51J3. Another switch cured the intermittent
meter.
