I don't have an A4 schematic to check. Its possible to be 40 pf, but 
seems unlikely. Let me guess the connections. Section A is connected to 
the filament of the 5Y3 rectifier, section B to the load end of the filter 
choke (L1?) and section C is connected to an intermediate voltage 
feeding the audio output tube screen and all the IF and RF stages. Then it 
would be 40 mf. 

Sometimes a tech manual editor knows more than he knows, sometimes 
the printer does that. Knew mmf was a valid unit so made that true for 
that capacitor since many other capacitors in the parts list were truly in 
mmf.
