[Collins] KWS-1

Dan et al,
Like I wrote, it is a subjective judgement as to how hard of a job replacing
the connector is. I based my comments on having to remove the entire PA
compartment more times than I will ever testify to, even under oath.
As Lorin writes, it is difficult and watch those spacers. They are meant to
shim the difference between the chassis length of the PA compartment and the
rest of unit. They will fall out when you remove the screws on the rear
small panel and I think when they hit the floor, they utter "surprise, you
will never get me back in! I'm free, free at last!".
Another thing to pay close attention to is the many wires that go through to
the back panel. They are only #22 and break easily as I have learned several
times.
Lorin's suggestion on a source are just fine as well as mine for the
original.
I hope your experience is less traumatic than Lorin's and mine though
clearly Lorin's therapy has been more effective since he clearly talks about
it! I just go for long walks in the woods!
Happy Thanksgiving to all. It was the day after Thanksgiving last year that
I ventured to NH to bring home SN 767 and this day it works and is a proud
addition to my shack. Enjoy yours!
