While handbook projects may start with plate parasitic resistor values
over the range of 25 to 250 ohms, picking a value at random in that
range can lead to poor results. Too low a resistance won't damp the
parasitic, and too high a value will fry the resistor on 10 meters. Each
radio design has to adjust the value of the resistor and the inductance
of the parasitic suppressor to achieve adequate parasitic suppression
for all tuning conditions without dissipating excess power in the
resistive part of the parasitic suppressor.

Parasitic suppressors for the 30L-1 should have the same number of turns
of the same sized wire on the same value and power rating as the
original or they may either go up in smoke from dissipating too much
power or from not killing the parasitic. And may take other parts with
them, like tubes and RF chokes.
