Simpson?  What's that about?

The S-meter on my 75S-1 has an arc with patent info and Simpson
Electric in teeny-tiny font at the top.  The "Collins Radio
Company" is about mid-meter in smallish font but not quite that
small. 

Is that what you mean by "Simpson Logo" or are there meters
with no Collins name?   

Anyway, this is interesting in the "what were they doing, way
back when." sense.
