OK, now I have to weigh in on this subject.
I have 32S-1 #230 and it has the earliest of meters, one without the
Collins logo, fluted around the adjusting screw, Simpson logo, and it
has a straight pointer.
I also have two 73S-1s, #10688 and a second one with a serial number
less than 200 (cant see it since its been stacked on right now)
The two receivers have two different meters. The earliest serial number
has a fluted meter, with Collins logo in small font, and a straight
pointer. The #10688 has a smooth meter, no flutes, Collins logo in
large font, and straight pointer. I have never seen a spade end pointer.
